The date of the founding of the city is unknown. The first mention of the settlement of Ploskyriv dates back to 1431. During its long history, the city was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Russia, the People's Republic of Poland, the Ottoman and Russian Empires. During his stay as part of the latter, his name changed to Proskurov. During the liberation competitions, the government of the UNR and the Directorate were repeatedly located in Proskurov. In 1954, the city received its modern name, in honor of the outstanding Ukrainian hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky. Unfortunately, Ploskyrivsky Castle has not survived to this day. But today you can see many other interesting sights here - St. Anne's Church, Checkman Park, the Planeta cinema, located in the old fire tower, the museum of the history of the city and the cinema “Kut”. All this, and many other interesting ones - on this route.
