Palermo has a large historical heritage and is notable for its ancient attractions that keep traces of different periods. Amazing thing is that a city where there were so many different rulers (Phoenicians, Byzantines, Romans, Sakarya people, Spaniards, Italians) preserved monuments of each period. Palermo is also famous for delicious Sicilian cuisine, bright sun, vibrant streets and the gentle Tyrrhenian Sea, which is part of the Mediterranean Sea. The “Weekend in Palermo” itinerary consists of 2 parts. This is the first part of the itinerary where you will see the Palermo Cathedral and Palatine Chapel, the Martorana church, the Pretoria fountain, the Norman Palace, the Massimo Theater and many other popular landmarks.
