The city of Verona attracts thousands of tourists every year. It's most famous as the setting for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. But this itinerary will show you another side of this ancient city. Verona has a rich history of more than 2000 years. It was a Roman city, and many Roman ruins have been preserved. Because of the value and importance of its many historical buildings, Verona has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the second part of itinerary "Charming Verona" where you will find the most remarkable sights, notably the Piazza dei Signori, the Scaliger Tombs, the Verona Cathedral (Duomo), the Ponte Pietra, the Roman theater and the Giusti gardens. You can also try a delicious local cuisine and enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the Castel San Pietro area.
