The city of Verona attracts thousands of tourists every year. It's most famous as the setting for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. But this itinerary will show you another side of this ancient city. Verona has a rich history of more than 2000 years. It was a Roman city, and many Roman ruins have been preserved. Because of the value and importance of its many historical buildings, Verona has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the first part of itinerary "Charming Verona" where you will find the most remarkable sights, notably the Verona Arena, the Lamberti tower, the Verona Cathedral (Duomo), the Basilica of San Zeno Maggiore, the Castelvecchio and many others.
