Alberobello in 1 day

Alberobello (literally "beautiful tree") is a small town and comune of the Metropolitan City of Bari. It is famous for its unique trullo buildings. The settlement was founded in the 16th century, but since every new building on this territory was allowed only after paying a huge tribute, the residents came up with a trick: in the event of a royal inspection, the roofs of the houses could be demolished in just a few minutes. The route “Alberobello in 1 day” will let you discover the most “Italian” town in the world. Here you can enjoy the unique spirit of provincial Italy, try local cuisine and walk through the fairy “trulli”. The trulli of Alberobello have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, and in the town, there are trulli houses, trulli hotels, restaurants and shops, a trulli museum and even a trulli church.
