Edinburgh is a city of wind, books and cozy courtyards: compact but diverse. The “All Edinburgh in a Day” route will take you from the green slopes to the royal halls and atmospheric alleys.
We start at Edinburgh Zoo, where it's easy to wake up with the city. For a snack - crispy fish with potatoes at The Gannet Fish Bar. Next is the National Gallery of Modern Art (Modern One) and the quiet village of Dean: stone bridges, water and photos that do not need filters. The Ross Fountain shines on Prince Street, and Edinburgh Castle rises high on the basalt cliff — yes, it is an extinct volcano.
Through Meadows Park and Greyfriers Church, we head to the National Museum of Scotland. Want warmth in your palms? Visit the Scotch Whiskey Centre and then have fun at the Obscuri Chamber. On the Royal Mile there is St. Giles Cathedral, Mary King Lane and the cozy Angels with Bagpipes.
Final chords: Calton Hill with a panorama of the rooftops of the city, interactive Dynamic Earth, Golirudhaus Palace and the paths of Golirud Park.
Interesting to know: at the end of summer, the Fringe takes place here, the largest art festival in the world. And yes, here it is easy to fall in love with the city from the first walk.
