Ronda is bright and friendly, a city on the rocks that hangs over the Tahoe gorge and gives a feeling of freedom. The route “Ronda: City over the Abyss” begins at the observation deck and in Alameda del Tajo Park: the shadow of the trees, the smell of herbs and the first views of the villages. A few steps away is the arena for bullfighting in Ronda: this is where modern bullfighting developed. Next is the New Bridge; we will pause for coffee in the Albacara restaurant and look at the terrace of the House-Museum of Don Bosco, from where the gorge seems very close. On the observation deck of the New Bridge, it becomes clear why Ronda holds her heart so tightly.
Next is the old town with the Palace of Mondragón and the House of the Giant, and on the square of the Duchess de Parsent rises the Church of Santa Maria la Mayor; nearby is the cozy restaurant El Sacristán. The Lara Museum surprises with collections, the House of the Moorish King leads through the garden to the water. Through the Arch of Philip the Fifth we will go to the Old Bridge and the Cuenca Gardens. Arab baths are considered to be among the best preserved in Spain. Finish — near the city walls and the Church of the Holy Spirit; if desired — a glass at La BarFina in Ruedo Alameda Square. The route is compact, varied and very lively — this is how you will remember Ronda.
