Welcome to the first tourist day in Ronda — a city built literally on the edge of the abyss.
Ronda is divided by the El Tahoe canyon more than 100 meters deep, and it is this geography that has defined its history, architecture and way of life of the townspeople for centuries.
Today will be:
• Puente Nuevo is an engineering symbol of the 18th century city that not only connects the shores, but forms the main visual identity of Ronda.
• Baños Árabes de Ronda — one of the best preserved Arab baths in Spain, showing how the city functioned during the Muslim period.
• Plaza de Toros de Ronda — the arena where the rules of modern bullfighting and the culture of Spanish bullfighting were formed.
Little known fact:
Puente Nuevo was built for more than 40 years, and the first architect died in the collapse of the previous structure — after which the city radically revised its approach to engineering the bridge.
We wish you a meaningful walk and a strong first acquaintance with Ronda.
