Welcome to the first day of tourism in Zurich — a city where history, science and everyday life exist within walking distance. Zurich is compact, logical and well read from day one. Today will be: The University of Zurich is one of the key universities in Switzerland, which has made the city an important scientific center of Europe. The Zurich Opera House is a space where classical music and ballet are part of the urban rhythm, not just an event for an individual audience. Pavillon Le Corbusier is the only Le Corbusier building in Switzerland completed during his lifetime and an example of pure modernism by the lake. Little known fact Zurich has more than 1,200 fountains, and most of them serve drinking water — this is part of the city's infrastructure, not decor.
