Toledo is felt to the touch: a warm stone under the palm of your hand, the smell of coffee and forging, the flickering of the Tahoe River. For centuries, Christians, Muslims and Jews have lived nearby, and this adds a special sound to the city. I invite you to a walking tour “City of Three Cultures”.
We start at the Mirador del Valle: the panorama of the old city in the arms of the river sets you up for discovery. We go down to the Castle of San Servando and through the Alcantara Bridge we enter the heart of the fortress - Alcazar. From the Santa Cruz Museum we go to Socodover Square, where the streets run like streams. Next is the Mosque of Christ of Light with elegant arches and the Bisagra Gate with lions.
Above the Tahoe awaits the San Martin Bridge and the lace of the stone of the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. In the Jewish quarter there is the tranquility of the Synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca and El Transito, next to the Museum of Greco and the Church of Santo Tome with its masterpiece. We finish near the towers of San Ildefonso and in the main shrine — the Toledo Cathedral.
It is interesting to know: Toledan steel made local craftsmen famous, and the archbishop's chair here and still has the title of primate of Spain. Go slowly, with pauses at the Recaredo Terrace or the Tranzito Gardens — with each stop Toledo gets closer.
