Nice is the sunny capital of the Cote d'Azur, where the morning smells of coffee and the evening - of the sea. I propose a walk “Nice in one day” that leads from the sea to the hills, from Baroque to contemporary art — easy, tasty and with views.
Start on the English Embankment: a sip of espresso at Beau Rivage Beach, a view of the Nice Opera and beyond — to the Cour-Salei Market with its fruits, flowers and cheeses. Near Charles Negro Museum of Photography. In the Old Town we will see the Cathedral of the Holy Resparata and the Lascaris Palace, and then — to Castel Beach. We climb to the Waterfall on Castle Mountain: the panorama of the Port of Limpija is here without competition.
Next is the MAMAC Museum of Contemporary Art, Massena Square and the Albert the First Garden. From the bustle of the city to the tranquility of the shrines: the Basilica of Notre Dame and the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas. For a snack — La Gare du Sud. Final in Simien: Marc Chagall Museum, Henri Matisse Museum and a quiet Franciscan monastery.
Interesting to know: The English Quay appeared thanks to donations from British holidaymakers in the nineteenth century, and the sun is here almost three hundred days a year. The route is designed so that you can catch the sea, the market, art and the best views without haste.
