Welcome to the second day of Nice. Here, on the hills, there are world-class museums, ancient monasteries and gardens, where Nice opens in a completely different way than on the noisy promenade. Among the 12 locations on this day, here are three that set the mood: Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas is the largest Orthodox cathedral in Europe outside the East, with an incredible domed silhouette and details that unexpectedly harmoniously fit into the South of France. • Musée Marc Chagall is a museum that the artist created together with the architects, so each hall reinforces the emotion of his biblical paintings. • The Monastère de Cimiez is a quiet place above the city, where there is a garden next to the monastery, offering one of the best views of Nice. Also on the route: the Matisse Museum, ancient ruins, the Semier gardens, modern museums and the stylish gastronomic space La Gare du Sud. Little known fact: In the gardens of the Family there are olive trees that are over 500 years old, and they still bear fruit — these are the oldest “inhabitants” of Nice. Have a good walk — the second day will open Nice deeper and calmer.
