The “Best in Bordeaux” route starts in Bassins de Lumières — an impressive multimedia space in a former underwater base. After a coffee break we head to the City of Wine: here it is easy to understand why Bordeaux is called the world capital of wine. Through the Jacques Chaban-Delmas Bridge we go to the opposite bank, where it is worth taking a look at the Botanical Garden. Then we return by the Stone Bridge to the old town — to the quarter of the Basilica of St. Michael and the Great Bell, which once announced important events.
Step by step we go to the Museum of Aquitaine and the Cathedral of St. Andrew, and then to the Exchange Square with the Water Mirror. It is considered the largest reflecting pool in the world: the surface of the water perfectly captures the facades and the sky - and photos are obtained without effort. The finish is near the Bolshoi Theater, in the comfort of the Public Garden, near the Basilica of St. Severin and the arches of the Gallienne Palace, which preserved the spirit of the Roman era.
The center of Bordeaux is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as a “Port of the Moon”. The route is compact, varied and very photogenic: during the day you will see Bordeaux from its promenades, squares and narrow streets — this is how it unfolds best.
