Welcome to the first day of your trip to Santander, a city where the sea and architecture merge into a magnificent landscape. Interestingly, it is here, in the 7th district near Cape Cabo Major, that the wind from the ocean is considered “the cleanest in all of Spain” and locals joke that it can treat fatigue. Today you will see the business cards of the city: • Palacio de la Magdalena is a former royal residence with fabulous architecture and panoramic views of the Bay of Biscay. • Museo Marítimo del Cantábrico is a maritime museum that tells about the ocean through whale skeletons, boats and old maps. Faro de Cabo Mayor is a legendary lighthouse on the rocks that has been guiding ships through the mists of the Atlantic for more than 180 years. And that's not all — in front of beaches, parks and culinary stops overlooking the sea. Interesting fact: the first lighthouse in Santander was lit in 1839, and it still works by hand — the caretaker lives just next door, in a small house under the rock. We wish you a bright day in Santander - let the wind from the ocean give strength 🌊
