Welcome to the second day of our trip! Santander was once a small fishing settlement, but after a great fire in 1941, the city was rebuilt almost from scratch - which is why the historical facades here peacefully coexist with modern architecture. Today there are three bright stops waiting for you: Centro Botín — a futuristic museum of contemporary art • Santander Cathedral is the main temple of the city, which combines medieval restraint and the grandeur of Gothic arches. • Portisada Square is the main scene of urban life, where concerts are played, holidays take place and there is a feeling of celebration even on a weekday. And between them there are cafes, museums and the promenade that leads directly to the sea. Interesting fact: Saint Emeterio, the patron saint of the city, in whose honor the bay was even named, is buried in Santander Cathedral. Enjoy every stop! ☺️
