Dresden is the capital of the German state of Saxony, located on the Elbe River near the border with the Czech Republic. The city is known for its rich cultural heritage, impressive Baroque architecture and the picturesque Elbe Valley. It is often referred to as the “Jewel Box” or “Florence on the Elbe”. Dresden combines historical sites such as Frauenkirche and Semper Opera with dynamic modern life — numerous museums, research institutions and the renowned Technical University of Dresden.
Among them is the monument to Frederick Augustus, which symbolizes the gratitude of the people to their ruler, as well as the majestic Dresden Cathedral with its rich decoration and unique atmosphere. You will see King Jan Square, a space that has kept the breath of history alive, and the Dresden Art Gallery, where the world's masterpieces of painting are presented.
The route will take you through the Mathematical and Physical Salon with unique antique appliances, to the incredible Zwinger — a baroque pearl with gardens and fountains. You will see the famous Porcelain Collection, which amazes with its diversity, as well as visit Dresden Castle, a former residence of the Electors with a rich history. No less interesting will be the Museum of Transport, where everything from carriages to airplanes is presented.
And, of course, the trip will not be complete without gastronomic discoveries. You will visit the Alte Master restaurant, which serves exquisite dishes, as well as the authentic beer bar “Radeberger”, which has preserved the true spirit of local traditions. Other historical places are waiting for you, where you can feel the atmosphere of old Dresden.
