Amsterdam is the lightness, the water and the courage to live in your own way. The city has more than a thousand bridges and one hundred and sixty canals included in the UNESCO list; there are even more bicycles than residents. Our walking route leads from the green Vondelpark, where you should take a break in the tea house De Roos, then past the majestic Concertgebau to the Museum Quarter. Here one after another are the Stadelake with a bold modernist, the Van Gogh Museum with the vivid yellowness of sunflowers, the Moko Museum and the Rijksmuseum with the Night's Watch.
From here, the trail leads into the FOAM Museum of Photography and the Floating Flower Market — the smells of tulips are wonderfully invigorating. Next is the Canal Museum and the touching Anne Frank House. The Royal Palace and street music await on Dam Square, and in a few turns — the Old Church and St. Nicholas Basilica.
The end of the route passes through the NEMO Science Center and the Maritime Museum to the green Hortus Botanicus; nearby is the Artis Zoo and the bright Tropical Museum. Finally, a sip of brewing history at the Heineken Museum and a hearty dinner at the cozy Piet de Leeuw. Take comfortable shoes - the canals gently set the rhythm of the step, and the city opens itself.
