The route begins in the gardens of Turia near the Palace of Music — water, shade and elegant arches for a quiet start. Next are the elegant Bridge de la Mar and the Exposition Bridge, and through the Plaza Porta de la Mar we exit to the Bullfighting Arena and the City Council Square with its fountain. Nearby is the National Museum of Ceramics in a palace with a bizarre baroque portal.
In the old center await the Round Square, St. Catherine's Church, Queen's Square and the Cathedral; in the Square of Our Lady there is a quiet shadow of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Abandoned. For a snack, try light bowls at Poke House on Marques del Turia Avenue or brunch Corner La Virgen for a brunch.
Next are the Serranos Towers and a walk through the El Carme quarter: the expositions of the Center for Contemporary Culture del Carme and the Valencian Institute of Contemporary Art add new impressions, and the Museum of Tin Soldiers of L'Ibert delights with details.
The finish is near the Silk Exchange and the Lonha Stairs; near the Central Market of Valencia, where you should grab a slice of jamon, oysters or a glass of orange juice. The path is compact: in one day you will have time to see the different moods of the city without losing pace.
