It is convenient to feel Granada in one day with your feet. Start with the shimmering jets of Fuente de las Batallas, walk to Puerto Real and log a few lines at the Federico García Lorca Center. A fragrant pause in Seda Kofi, a short visit to the José Guerrero Museum — and you are ready for the grandeur of Granada Cathedral. From it the road leads to Plaza Nueva, then - Elvira Street to the Elvira Gate, and here is the white Albaysin under your feet.
Steps lead to the Palace of Dar al Horra and the quiet Alhibe del Rey. On the balcony of San Nicolas there is a wide panorama of the Alhambra and the Sierra, from which it is difficult to look away. Go down the Promenade of Troubles past the fountain, look at the Palace of Los Córdoba and the Moorish House of Orno de Oro - the stone here speaks without too much noise.
The finale is in the Alhambra itself: through the Seven Storey Tower to the austere Alcazaba, then to the solemn Palace of Charles the Fifth and the concentrated Alhambra Museum. The climax is the lace Nasrid Palaces, where water and light paint patterns on the walls. For a gentle end to the day, there is the La Mimbre terrace overlooking the green slopes and red walls: the flavors of Andalusia make it a point to return to.
